Sometimes the lines blur between a batch and a weeknight recipe, which is nice. I think it's just about levelling up leftovers, rather than eating the same thing 3 times a week (not my idea of fun!)
Glad u enjoyed Mexico. I'll be judging your taco selection.
Not to be contrarian, and I get the importance of asking for input, but I wouldn’t want these to become too complacent. It feels like you’re doing your thing when writing, and that’s what makes it a great read.
In a time when u can search TikTok for any recipe and get 50 options, being told about a great option I *wouldn’t* think of feels incredibly valuable. The best food writing definitely has an omakase vibe, I think.
That said, a beer snacks book down the road would be grand.
Budget cooking, vegetarian dishes, and also ideas for when you're strapped for time would be great! Lunch inspiration would be ideal too; easy but flavourful dishes that dont take ages to prep. Travel writing would also be great to read, I love some foodie destination ideas 😋
It’s already been said below but more meat-free content would be great. The recipes always sound so great but I can’t make lots of them. So I would love to see more pescetarian, veggie or vegan dishes! Keep up the great work
can’t wait for a new year full of recipes and inspo! Resonate with the point of falling out of love with it all, felt that myself recently, trying to get back into enjoying home cooking again with new and exciting things. Can’t wait for the Mexico debrief, please bring some taco ideas!!! Probably what I enjoy eating most at home.
My faves are either the more technique-focused that you might plan to make as a weekend treat or the tasty weeknight recipes. Also the equipment recommendations (although it is slowly bankrupting me but I did NEED a potato ricer 😬). Either way, one of my favourite newsletters that I look forward to getting stuck into each week so more of the same please!
Thanks for the update Ben, great to hear more exciting things in the pipeline for 2025.
I've been trying many of your recipes at home and the beef carpaccio and fried polenta (in an air fryer with lots of oil) have definitely earned me some kudos amongst friends when they have been over for dinner recently.
These kind of recipes are the ones I'd like to see more of. Recipes for entertaining guests in a casual and fun format that are easy to prep in advance and have your friends going home amazed at the home cooked meal they just had.
I hear you Daniel, you want to show off, and I love it. There'll still be plenty of technique-driven, cheffy cookery for you to bust out for friends. Those two you tried are belters, glad you enjoyed!
I am looking forward to the newsletter coming back!
I enjoy the small "how to" sections that you incorporate in to the editions, so more of that would be great such as "how to use a stainless steel pan when cooking" which would fit in nicely with midweek recipes or the batch cooking prep you mentioned!
More links and suggestions for staple kitchen equipment would be great too, which you already incorporate in to your newsletters, such as the best microplane (for garlic, parmesan, zesting etc.).
I would love a "store cupboard" edition or a "look in your kitchen (indoor and outdoor) edition or feature as it would be great to see what are the essential dry store ingredients to have and how you have your kitchen set up to make cooking easy and fun to do!
I think a little kitchen tour is in order! We've just finished our kitchen renovation so once everything is a little more "lived in" I'll show you around. Outdoor will be getting a little freshen up, too. Stay tuned. Cheers, Josh!
My favourite bit has been the focus on seasonal ingredients (peach and chicken salad was an absolute banger). Technical cooking element matched with a weeknight recipe always appreciated.
Looking forward to the kitchen renovation look around and maybe a little equipment run down - very satisfied with the Xmas gift inspiration list last year too.
I love food travel writing! How we can easily cook things at home inspired by other food cultures and introducing us to new tastes, ingredients and flavours (and where we can get our hands on them!). It gets boring cooking the same flavours. I love tasting new things but still keeping it accessible and easy to replicate at home.
Would love some meal prep inspo!
on it!
Weeknight and technique driven recipes!
Batch cooking less so - I feel there many places to find recipes like that 😅
Looking forward to 2025!

More veggie stuff! Veggie snacks and starters would be great too
Vegetables are in the cross hairs.

Nothing like a working lunch. Sounds grand.

ok, ace. Thanks Kat!

Tacos en route!
Healthy meal prep lunch/dinner ideas and healthy snacks would be great!

Looking forward to what’s to come. More vegetable centric weeknight meals please.

Technique and equipment tips have made the biggest impact on 'how I cook', particularly for meat and fish cookery. Request for SUNDAY SAUCE #4?
Sunday Sauce #4 is well overdue. Thanks, Emily!
Veggie inspo very welcome please. Weeknight and more elevated ideas to cook for company. Thank you!
you got it, Emma!
